This coming December, from the 19th to the 21st, an extraordinary event will be held in Caracas, Venezuela: the World Summit for Mother Earth. This international gathering is organized within the framework of the Bicentennial of the Chuquisaca Decree, and its primary objective is to unite leading scientific and academic voices with social movements dedicated to defending our planet.
This event is shaping up to be the largest global gathering of Eco socialists. It will feature the participation of prominent academic and scientific figures, along with pro-life advocates who oppose predatory capitalism.
The summit represents a crucial call to grassroots movements, scientific and academic communities, researchers, and environmental advocates alike. We urge everyone to join forces in the urgent fight against natural disasters caused by destructive economic models.
Humanity desperately needs a new Eco socialist paradigm to ensure life on Earth. Therefore, this World Congress is designed to foster collective consciousness and inspire transformative action.
Bicentennial of the Chuquisaca Decree: Bolivarian Inspiration
The Congress will be held in honor of the bicentennial of the Chuquisaca Decree, a historic document promulgated by Liberator Simón Bolívar in 1825. This decree stands as one of the first Latin American legal precedents in the defense of natural resources. It promoted reforestation, the restoration, and rational use of forests, rivers, and soils, thus demonstrating the profound ecological vision of the Father of the Nation.
During the event announcing this upcoming summit, President Nicolás Maduro also instructed the formation of Eco socialism Committees in Venezuela’s 5,338 Communal Circuits. This initiative is vital for implementing the Great Mission of the New Generation, Mother Earth Venezuela.
The objective of these committees is to serve as platforms for active citizen participation in environmental restoration efforts and to formulate concrete proposals that strengthen the new Great Mission. Through this initiative, Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to building an Eco socialist, supportive, and sustainable model, aligning itself with global struggles for climate justice and the preservation of life on the planet.
